GST Counsil extend GSTR 9 & 9C filing - 38th Meeting of the GST Council - LegalABCD

38th Meeting of the GST Council 

Changes made in this meeting of council are :

1. Deadline for filing of GSTR - 9 and 9C for FY 2017-18 extended to January 31,2020 from December 31, 2019.
2. Land lease GST rates to be effective from January 1,2020. Levy penalty relaxed for non-filing of GSTR-1 from July 2017.
3. GST Council has agreed to rationalise GST rates on Woven and Non-Woven Bags to 18% with effect from March 1,2020.
4. There will be a single GST rate of 28% on both state-run and private lotteries effective from March 1,2020.
